The 6+ Save

Yea.

Alot’s been going on hobby wise for me recently and its time to post before I leave civilization for the next week so here we go.

Blood Angels… Yea there fucking awesome and my next project even as I still finish my DE has already been deemed to be pre heresy BA, yea were gonna enjoy this shit. Going drop heavy and wanting to have a stand in for Sanguinius as this awesome picture would like to demonstrate means the army is going to be running either the sanguinor or mephiston as its stand in, with there being heavy drop pod love for them pre-heresy armies. Most of this has come seeing this amazing image and I begun reading the Horus Heresy books as of last week.

Every time I begin reading 40k fluff I delve back into wanting to amazing armies built around fluff, forgetting about the tournament comp that might make it competitive I feel this may be one of those.

Various companies due great model pieces to create good conversions for pre heresy and forgeworld has a great line up as well. As this gets done it will be posted with bitz info and techniques to help other create Pre-Heresy stuff.

At the same time I’ve been working on painting my DE, finished the vehicles using a black/ice blue color combo that contrasts very well and use the panels to break up the flat surfaces. The metal was all painted to look like a well worn/dirty bronze which helps offset the clean edge panels without ruining the look of the model.

The infantry models have been given a similar treatment with armor sections being black and blue mixed with metal segments that follow the same look as the vehicles.

So there was a pretty big turnout to that 1750 tournament we have all been talking about for the past week or two. 

So ill just write up a lil recap of my games and how everything went for me.

Game 1

the “Iron” wolves vs. Dark Elderp (Capture and control)

• He wins first turn and such even with Bjorn’s stupid fucking reroll. double 1’s (pro)
• His list is full of raiders w/ wyches?, ravagers, the Dook, and some truborn in venoms. 
• Pretty much disables my land raider turn 1 even with nightfight. Pins a squad of long fangs and due to me being a retard causes the other squad to lose coherency. 
• During my next turn i dont do much, some stunned and shaken all round that’s about it, preparing for the assaults that i am about to face.
• He kills my damn landraider with some grenades, and now its pretty much gone from “capture and control” to just “control”. He Assaults Bjorn and does nothing to him.
• Bjorn eventually wins combat. (op)
• He kills all my grey hunters and makes it so i cant contest, i lose 0-1 

Game 2

Wolves vs. Space Marines (Seize ground)

• Hes got some razorbacks, Vindicator, dakka pred,  Land raider Redeemer w/ Hammer Termies +Captain + Chaplain (dag yo)
• I get first turn and knock the guns off some Razorbacks, and immobilize the vindicator. (oh baby)
• He shoots some stuff and doesn’t do much, landraider gets all up in my business.
• Bjorn proceeds to move up and punch raider, not really doing anything. My LR moves about and my rhinos move to take objectives while dreads shoot things.
• Bjorn gets immobilzed right in front of the damn Land raider, immobilizes it in return and takes off the multi melta. Grey hunters start a fight with a scout and some tactical marines. 
• Bjorn fights Hammers/Meltabombs/other shit long enough for me to win 2-0 (zz)

Game 3 (oh gosh)

Woofs vs Orkz (Annihilation) 

• We set up and he goes first. some Battlewagons filled with kustom mega bullshit fly at me while lootas kill long fangs. (awesome.)
• I get huge and kill a battlewagon with weapons destroyed results. I shoot other things and immobilize a trukk. go me.
• He rams my landraider (face2face) does nothing and i return a stun on that shit, some Nobs and a Warboss pick a fight with the LR right after and do nothing, During my next turn Bjorn gets pissed and kills all the nobs and the Warboss (fuck you wound allocation). I shoot boys and Killa Kans.
• He tries to assault my long fangs through some cover and rolls double 1’s, I proceed to murder a squad of orks and many other orks.
• His bad luck continues and i win with 11 KPs to his 2. 

So my last minute list didnt do so bad, im actually pretty happy.

Now to actually paint the damn army for once. :I

Kenny bought the new Dark Eldar flyer. No big. So we took some pictures of the sprues. There are only 2! What? Shit. Sorry we didn’t have it up earlier — it is admittedly kind of “so yesterday” now. Deal with it.

Anyway, that’s that. Wish it had a bunch of extras. Whatever.

I’m all about magnets right now, loving them. Picked up a few recently from my local game store and have been using them to full effect to replace warrior weapons and the like, most awesome of their uses has been to allow Lelith to disembark from her transport.

When starting to do this I found it was best to create a template weapon upgrade using the magnets and then when magnetising torso I could easily find the polarization using the existing template and would then mark the face that should not be visible inside the torso this allowed me to not make mistakes and to make sure that all my warriors would be able to use any of the weapons I would magnetize.

So I put venoms in you list so you could herp while you derp.

My new Dark Eldar army is all about venoms, chicks and Lelith being a way to awesome model. After seeing the new model and my hate for Lance spam I decided I must have this army, so I had a impulse buy moment and bought venoms, warriors and wyches and began making an army list for them. Mid way through I had a longing for Sisters of Battle and decided to make all my Dark Eldar female to fill that void.

None the less the list looks something like this

Well that’s it for the list at 1750pts with it actually equaling 1748pts just wanted to use alot of venoms and keep a speedy theme going filling out most of the slots. The list is meant to be able to take on anything while being able to move at terrible speeds. The 5+ inv that comes with each venom makes up for there super fragile state, but every unit in the list can slice through infantry and make a mess of any vehicle in the game.

This is a thread of in-progress armies from around the FLGS. I am so hungover and late for work but I promised the bros I’d post. With the tournament coming up, we’re aiming to have it all painted because we GO BIG OR DON’T GO. Got a week and a half to do it. So here.

Love when multiple online items show up on the same day, feels like Christmas. Finecast Lelith showed up today as well as 3 venoms and in a little bit the rest of my warriors and wyches will be arriving.

Well now that The 6+ Save is up and going I’m feeling rather hasty about posting something of meat. It’s seems I’m gonna be the only dork to run around with my name open to the world, so indeed I am Kenny Heater, a twenty something college student who has way to much free time and a hobby in which he strains his love/hate relationship with. This is my testimony.

My humble beginnings with Warhammer 40k stemmed from being a young nerd in love with video games and the such, Warhammer 40k eventually found it’s way to me, as a young teen I frequented my local game store at the time, one such called Game Cove, where I learned the secret ways of playing with toy soldiers of the future and their bitter struggle to always roll higher dice than the opponent. To say the least I was hooked at first seeing a hobby that was loved by others and second by knowing that my army would be “MY” army it would have my flavor something that no one else would have.

To say the least I bought what I could from my parents allowance at the time and began playing Imperial Guard, these poor men had no power armor, no super reflexes, no they had flashlights and they would fight the darkness with it no matter what and I too would join them in their eternal struggle. My first few months was just trying to get my army together and learning the game much better so I came by and watched often during tournaments and open play days. (BTW during this time some business junky came by and bought Game Cove and had it moved to a better location and renamed it, Pair A Dice Games ) To say the least I fought the tide of terrible that I was with my Guard at first untill I was decent eventually when I got my first job I began buying another army. Thus the Anime Space Commies that the Tau are became my next victim.

Buying Tau was only the first step I took as I descended into madness, eventually buying and playing Orks, Grey Knights, Space Marines, Chaos Daemons, Tau Again, Guard Again, Flesh Tearers and now my newest victim is Dark Eldar. As the armies passed so did life and when I hit college I began working at this store that had consumed my pay check, where I do so to this day as the Event Coordinator.

My play style is always how I want to play and what is most fun for me, no one can tell me different but I do take suggestion and I will continue on this way as well. Look in the coming weeks for my all female Dark Eldar army and it’s in progress and finished shots for an upcoming tournament.
