Red and gold, with white all over
BAM
DAMN, ITS BEEN TOO LONG.
Anyways, yes. Ive been playing and painting plenty of warmachine lately and its been enjoyable, definately a learning experience with every game, just wish i had more stuff to use!
As far as the league at the LGS goes, its been really fun, i did have to switch to Protectorate of Menoth for the remainder of the league because of some money issues and the store not carrying alot of things I needed, its really a hassle to have to order everything. Plus Hordes is a little too much for me, much too agressive while i perfer the attrition style of Warmachine.
Protectorate has been crazy enjoyable, i really do love all of their fluff and theme of the whole army, Crazy religious fanatics lighting everything on fire, fuck yeah!
I really need to take some pictures of the army, plus Hessian has been working on his Khador army as well, and hes doing damn good in the league, constant wins while im the exact opposite.
But heres what people really want to read, How does Warmachine compare to Warhammer40k? Well, theres plenty to hit on but ill stick to the basics of it all.
- Warhammer is based about the Hit-Wound-Save system while Warmachine has no real save mechanics aside from Tough which is essentially a feel no pain roll.
- The pace of Warhammer is slower with tactics based solely around Out-shooting or Out-fighting (?) your opponent, or simply completing objectives. Warmachine has some of these components but the idea of a Caster kill makes the game much more decision based.
- Tactics play a stronger role in Warmachine along with synergy and planning, while in Warhammer a lot of it can be planned for, but there is plenty of randomness in 40k, i find that a lot with my Grey Knights.
- Overall speed and feel. the smaller size of Warmachine games make it feel like every unit needs to serve its purpose, there doesn’t really feel like there’s the “spam” effect going on that 40k seems to reek of now a days. Balance is key in Warmachine, not Chimera Spam Leaf blower, but there’s always Bane Thralls.. ( looking at you Cryx )
Thats all ive really got to say for now, thanks for reading.
